I have a 92 civic hatchback vx with the d15z1 vtec theirs a box that hooks to the back of the engines block and a tube ran from the box to the pcv valve... problem is the black box has fell off the the block so the hole it was connected to on the block is now open and its causing a bad oil leak. I cant put the box back on until i get it up on a lift "i cant get access to it" is it ok to block off that hole with a rag or something to stop the oil leak until i can fix it...is it ok to drive it with it blocked off or will it cause damage or blow gaskets with the pressure being sealed off?
There should also be a second hose from the valve cover to the side of the duct that connects the air cleaner to the throttle body. As long as that hose is there and working you can temporarily block the PCV hole without building up crankcase pressure. I am only proposing an emergency measure - be aware it is not legal to operate that way.
