Charity challenges to do in London?
I'm organising a charity event and need to produce a set of challenges that can be completed and photographed in one day in London. These are some of the ideas I already have and is the sort of thing I'm looking for:
Shake hands with a man with a beard
Surf the tube (i.e. don't hold onto the rail between two stations)
Kiss a lion in Trafalgar Square
Swap an item of clothing with a stranger
Get a cheesy photo with a group of tourists
Get on a boat
Roll a die on a Monopoly street
Find a "Banksy"
A couple of years ago there was a group doing a similar thing. I was working in a theatre where there were a couple of well known people performing. One of their tasks was to get a photo with someone famous. Luckily one of the actors agreed and the group came back after the show finished (it was a matinee day) and managed to get a photo. Not every theatre will agree to it, but if you don't ask. Matinees generally start at around 2.30 and end at around 5.00 p.m., so turning up at stage door at around 1 or 5 might work.
Find a gas lamp (there are plenty around the west end, you just have to look carefully)
Find a blue plaque
Stand under a bridge as a train/tube goes over.
Photograph a soldier on sentry duty.
All of the above can be done within easy walking distance of each other.
