chevy cavalier what are some symptoms of an used exhaust manifold gasket?
i have a chevy cavalier z24 and i think i might need a new exhaust manifold gasket but im not sure. what are some signals/problems that a car would have if it needs to be replaced?
The only purpose for the exhaust manifold gasket is to seal the manifold to the engine. If it has failed, you should be able to hear the sound of an exhaust leak (kind of like hedders but not as intense) or possibly even see traces of white exhaust gas. The z24's are also known to develop leaks in the exhaust manifold itself. So it you see the smoke it may be coming from lower than the gasket,
