350 sbc for my el camino?
i just stole a 350 for a 100.00 i checked it it turns but it has water in it from being outside. i'm going to break it down and go through it.with your help,tell me what do i need to do to keep it mild and under $600? my plan is this: ceramic headers a mild cam & lifter kit,edlebrock performer intake and a edlebrock 600 carb,give me your thoughts.
Make NO plans at all untill you have full engine took apart.
When dealing with engines the game plan change change as quick as it takes you to un bolt another part.
It's a used engine. Myself I would do a full rebuild on it.
Have blocked cleaned, checked for cracks, bored and honed, crank plolished, cam bearings and frezze plugs installed and pistons pin fitted... about $300

Those parts will come to about $270
Then use a performer RPM intake if you have the hood clearance, 600cfm carb, good 1-5/8" tube, 3" coll, long tube headers with dual 2.25" pipes
Thats a good start to a 300-350HP combo. With better heads like the vortecs, could see 375 HP easy, maybe 400 hp out of that combo
