Homemade Replacement Gasket for EGR Line?
I'm in the middle of replacing the EGR valve on a 2006 Chrysler 300 (2.7L V6). I had some difficulty reaching the lower tube connection to the EGR, so I removed it (with the valve still attached) from the much more accessible junction beneath the under-hood fuse box. My problem now is that I don't have a replacement gasket for this particular junction -- I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for making my own? What would be appropriate for this type of line? Where could I find the parts? Thanks for your help..!
I had to order the parts direct from the manufacturer, (I've been to every autoparts store around -- no one had it) and it took a few days to get here.. Now I have my car torn apart and don't want to reuse the old, rotting gasket. Thanks for all the replies..!
Go to an auto parts store, NAPA, for example, ask for a piece of graphite impreganted gasket material , and make your own gasket.
Cut it out carefully and install it . It will work fine.
