just got a deal on a 95 conversion van for 650, the exhaust fell off at the weld, now that i've fixed the exhaust, i can hear the van better, after a few days of driving it, i'm more noticing a shudder when i ease from a stop sign with little gas, but it doesnt do it when i give it strong gas from start. It feels like it's slipping, but if I give it good pedal instead of easing out, it shifts great all through all gears, it's only when i ease from a stop. Does this sound like a tranny problem?? it feels that way to me, but with all the sensors nowadays, who knows... Please answer only if you fairly know what your talking about, i've read alot of replies to questions by people who dont have any clue what there talking about. It could be a couple different one but I think it's probably a C-6.
Find your VIN number. Vehicle Identification Number. Go to a Ford website or any one that has to do with VIN identification. It will show you which part of the VIN number tells you what transmission you have.
The easiest way to deal with a transmission problem is to take it to a shop. You'll probably pay a diagnostic charge but they will be able to let you know what's going on by reading the codes that the transmission generates. We can't do much ourselves anymore without all the computer crap you need to have now days.
