Replaced the intake manifold gasket on my 94 Celica GT (Fuel Injected). Once reassembled, the car now has a high idle 1800 RPM+/-. Diagnosis revealed a code 31. "No Vacuum to Sensor". This is referring to the MAP sensor. Why would this be? I can not find any vacuum leaks. I cleaned everything off with carb cleaner including the EGR Valve, VSV, Throttle body, etc. I also cleaned the filter that the MAP sensor connects to. Are any of these parts sensitive to carb cleaner? I have tested the EGR valve and modulator which tested ok. Thank you for any advice you can offer.
You do not use carb. cleaner on fuel injected system, it takes a special chemical to clean this system. Carb. cleaner removes the protective film in the mass air flow system and other components. You will now need to replace any components that your code shows as bad.
