This car infuriates me. Seems like the on board diagnostics system is always alerting me of something since the warranty expired. It only has 85,000 miles. The problems I have had have been numerous- electrical problems (fan not working on settings 1-4, A/C cutting out all the time even though the A/C is fully charged), bad exhaust valve, cheap chinese steel factory rotors rusted out by 2 years, oil pressure light going on even though I regulary change my oil, leak in the manifold which requires me to fill it up with coolant constantly, the cheap plastic armrest cracked during the first week!, there was a factory recall on the directional which crapped out four years ago, etc. Bah, this crap makes me never want to buy American again. My whole family has Hondas and they are so reliable. They never seem to have any problems.
The oil pressure light concerns me because that's not something you check by your oil level. That needs a manual gauge attached and you pressure levels read. That being said I haven't personally ever owned a GM I do however own a Dodge Magnum that I think is a total pile. It has the oil pressure light problem, but I continually run a manual gauge on it so I know it's at the right levels. I have had several sensors replaced and the brakes drag even after the whole assembly was replaced.
My mother in law bought a brand new HHR a week ago. She drove it home and parked it in the garage. 2 hours later it wouldn't start. It had 12 MILES on it. The dealer came and got it and agreed to give her a new one. But then again the one she had was new too. I don't think there is such a thing as a reliable car. Another example my dad bought a new Honda in July. Brand new off the showroom floor and it always has the check engine light on and they can't figure out why. My step mom bought a new Suzuki in December and it has issues with the air bag sensors. Nothing is built to last and you are not alone in this boat, believe me we are all rowing with you and pissed as hell about it.
