I am going to purchase a mustang svt cobra. It will be between years 96-98. I will put a Cold air intake and cat back exhaust. Then I would like to supercharge it. But I dont know which kind of supercharger to get? I asked this question once before and everyone said its going to cost at least $10 K. Ive done a lot of reasearch since then and found that you can get a good supercharger for 2-3 K. So thats about my budget. Which kind would be best to get? I am not the guy who has to go out everynight and race everything. This is a daily driver car, that I would like to maybe kick a camaro or firebird in the A at a stoplight every once in a while.
best supercharger for a mustang 4.6 profile is twin screw design , either kenne bell or whipple.....
not sure where you are seeing numbers like $2000-3000.....even one of the lowest priced - but very dependable superchargers , the vortech will be almost $5000.
if you intend on buying one used make sure its in strong working order or that is has not been modified (ported).
plus if you are depending on a pro shop for installation count on a full days' labor including the pro tune to re set engine management system.
with a supercharger your car will of course remain a daily driver without any issues.
