is it safe to heat stainlless steel i order to bend it?
hey im having a really hard time in bending these 12 stainless steel rods, theyre 8 mm stainless steel and are connected to two bases and i cant bend then individually. is it safe to heat them up in the centre with an oxy-acytlene unit and then bend them?
Perfectly safe. If the material is to large of an area, that torch won't generate enough heat. Stainless takes a very high temperature to melt, cut, or heat to cherry red.
