What is the melting temp of soft copper pipe?
Am wanting to wrap my wood burner with 3/8 soft copper pipe to heat water going to an heat exchanger in my furnace. Will the copper withstand the heat?
1064ºC or 1960ºF
How hot a wood fire gets depends on the draft and other conditions. Various references seem to mention 800ºF, although a catalytic converter can raise that to 1200ºF as it burns carbon monoxide.
