I have a 2006 F-350 turbo diesel and I have been getting this problem where my temperature spikes to really hot sometimes and my turbocharger starts to make really loud noises and white smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipe.. What does this all mean? Same thing happened a few days ago and I put in water and anti-freeze in the cooling resevoir but I don't think I filled it up all the way but it seemed to help the engine for a few days with occassional white smoke when engine is cold but now the same thing is happening again and im afraid to drive and mess up the engine by overheating it
yes you have a blown head gasket white smoke is oil burning which is blown head gasket or piston rings or valve seals but valve seals would cause white smoke only for a while after start up piston rings would cause there to be oil on the cylinder walls and piston so it is a head gasket
