I have a 77' Ford F-150. It has a 460 in it. it's bein bored and stroked. Edelbroke intake manifold and holly carb. stock C-6 tranny, and a segmented drive shaft. duel glass packed exhaust. I have a few questions.
1.Will a posi rear end fit into the stock's place? And where can i get one? Or will a locker work?
2.Will a straight drive shaft add more power? If so where can i gt 1?
3.Where can i find a cold air intake for the 460?
5.Where can i get a manual racing tranny for it?
6.Is there a computer or electronic device i can upgrade in it?
7.Whats the price i'm looking at spending on this pretty much stock (save for the engine ONLY) to get this truck ready for street racing?
see i'm used to front wheel drive rice burners, easy to tune. old muscle is new. so i dont have a clue. thanks.
1 Yes you can get a posi or locker to replace the stock differential.
#2 You can have a one piece made , be sure to tell them what you will be doing to it . By the way they put the 2 piece drive shaft in to take the torque of the bigger engine.
#3 You can probably get one from a big truck ford F450's and so on , they had 460's in them . Or try streetbearcustoms.com for Magnum Force Stage 1 Cold Air Intake Systems.

#5 Get a C-6 fixed for racing and you will be better off.
Manual trans need a lot of parts and the drive shaft will be longer again , too much torque for the new single shaft.
#6 They only had a computer that controlled the spark , you control that with the distributor advance .
#7 What price?? Wow depends on when you stop adding something else . Traction will be an issue too.
If you can find a couple of old trucks that you can keep in a field some where for parts that is what I would do.
