i was told that ford and mitsubishi "got to gather", if so what year? and i have a 1990 plymouth laser (mitsubishi eclipse) and this guy said it was a ford, that the ford probe had the sam motor/tranny and other small parts, and i went to wiki and it said the ford probes smallest motor was a 2.2 and the dsm was the 1.8 but most commonly the 2.0, im starting to get pissed cause i hate fords but i love my car could you explain to me (if it is a ford) how?when?and why? and a web site to prove it thanks
It is surprising how misinformed some people are. Where do they get their information from!? To set the record straight, Mitsubishi had NOT gotten together with Ford. It is with Chrysler that Mitsubishi built the Eclipse, Talon and Laser under the DSM umbrella. The Ford Probe on the other hand had the same underpinnings with the Mazda MX-6. Afterall, Ford has a stake in the Mazda shares. As soon as the Probe disappeared from circulation, so did the MX-6. Tell your friend to keep his information straight!
