How should I end my custom exhuast?
I have a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 351c engine in it. I am putting a new 3" exhaust on it. I have a set of Flowtech headers, Headman header extension offset tubes( to move the muffler away from the driveshaft) and a pair of Spintech Mufflers part #9442. My question is what should I do after the mufflers. I was thinking about getting some 3" pipe and putting it out the side infront of the tire, or just buying a set of 3" downturns and putting them on right after the muffler. Any other options are open, but I'd rather not have to pipe the exhaust up and over the rearend and out the back. All answers are appreciated. Let me know what ya think. I always thought that the exhaust angled backwards out the side in front of the rear tires looked pretty cool but I'm not sure if it would look cool on my car. PS it's not painted or anything yet, I'm thinking about going for a sleeper car look.
I would just go with the down turns. It will make it easier in the future also to remove exhaust because they will not be on top of the rearend. Also sleeper car look you dont really want 3 inch exhaust sticking out of the back to give it away as a high performance, just my opinion. Good luck with your car.
