Most reliable muscle car clones? Is there a "most reliable"?
Now that I am in my mid thirties, I can afford one. My fear is that it will be in the shop always. With a muscle car clone:
-- Does it ALWAYS depend specifically on who did the restore job, and that quality.
-- Or simply availability of parts?
-- Or is there a clone group (i.e. Camero's) that is head and shoulders above the rest.
I don't mind a clone at all. I am going, just for looks and reliability, I am not a purest.
I have an adjustable budget 10-19K. Any thoughts, tips suggestions, must read sites?? I am interested in something like a 69 Trans AM, 69 Camaro, Mustang, ect.
I would love to have something that is only in the shop, say twice a year. I would drive it, like 2-3 days a week also.
Thanks in advance.
Depends on the age of the car.
most of it is who did the resto. job.
Some shops do a re-spray and call it restored.
A restored car is one which has been gone through both cosmetically and mechanically. Right down to all new wheel bearings, etc.
A lot of shops will clean and reuse many old drivetrain parts.
